On Thursday, May 3rd, Port Huron Area Schools need your help. Please vote yes to the proposed millage increase that will provide much needed infrastructure upgrades such as:
- Major upgrades at all District buildings to improve our learning environments, address aging infrastructure, enhance safety and security and provide energy and operational efficiencies.
- New Early Childhood Center located on the McKinley/Crull campus, providing additional space in our elementary buildings for expanded kindergarten classrooms, dedicated art and music space, etc.
- Replacement Elementary School for Kimball Elementary
- New additions at elementary and high schools and renovations at our middle schools to provide flexible and collaborative learning environments.
Port Huron Schools currently have the lowest millage rate compared to other county districts at 2.5 mills. The proposed millage would increase Port Huron area schools to 6.05 mills. – Information provided by and paid for with regulated funds by Friends of Port Huron Schools.
Strengthening our community, increased safety and security, energy efficiency, building and technology upgrades, are all benefits of approving this important investment in the future of our community.
